Seahawks Secure Play-off Berth with Thrilling Extra Time Victory over Rams.

Decisive play in overtime

Tight end Saubert made the game-winning two-point play for Seattle.

Seattle engineered a stunning fightback to defeat the Rams in extra time, securing their spot in the NFL play-offs.

Rallying from a 30-14 hole in the final period, the Seattle squad emerged victorious by a single point at home, notching their fifth straight win.

While the Los Angeles had already secured a post-season berth earlier on game day, the Seattle team booked their return to the play-offs after a 24-month absence.

With this result, the Seattle now lead their Conference race with a twelve and three record, supplanting the Los Angeles, who dropped to the fifth playoff position with an 11-4 record.

Game Recap

Signal-caller Sam Darnold threw two picks but regrouped to make two scoring throws, including the second TD to star receiver Smith-Njigba in the extra period.

The Rams held a 13-7 advantage at half-time before Kenneth Walker III broke free for a 55-yard scoring dash for the home side.

Los Angeles defensive back Wallace then took back Darnold's initial interception for a big return, leading to a short score by Corum on the ensuing snap.

In the fourth quarter, a scoring pass from Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua pushed the Rams' lead to 30-14, but Rashid Shaheed ignited Seattle's comeback with a spectacular return for a score.

Darnold then found Barner in the endzone, and a successful two-point play forced the game into overtime.

Although Puka Nacua scored for his second touchdown in overtime, Smith-Njigba answered in kind to set up the decisive score.

  • The 23-year-old tops the NFL with 1,541 yards for the campaign.
